Fortunately, there are a few procedures that can be done to fix any of these issues. There are websites that owners can access that will allow you to register to receive up-to-date information on any news regarding recalls for your vehicle. Tips on what to do if you experience your accelerator pedal sticking:

• If you need to stop immediately put both feet on the brake pedal and press down firmly. Do NOT pump the brakes.
• Shift your car's transmission into neutral and use the brakes to come to a controlled stop.
• If you are unable to put the car into neutral, turn the engine OFF.

Tips on what to do if you experience floor mat pedal entrapment:

• If safe and possible to do so, pull the floor mat back and dislodge it from the accelerator pedal, then pull the vehicle over and make a complete stop.
• If the floor mat cannot be safely removed, press both feet firmly on the brake. Do NOT pump the brake.
• Shift the transmission into neutral and safely come to a complete stop, then turn the engine off.
