Oil leaks can come from a variety of places under a car, truck or SUV. Such places are the engine, brake system, transmission, power steering pump, transfer case, front differential, rear differential, or the gas tank. Some leaks are internal to the engine and cannot be scene from the under carriage. If a motor is losing oil but there is no sign of leakage, it could be an internal leak. Evidence of an internal leak can come in the form of smoky exhaust. If you think you have a leak Hi-Tech Car Care will investigate your suspicions and if they are confirmed, find and repair the cause of the leak.
Timing Belt Replacement in Phoenix, Arizona
The timing belt in a car synchronizes the opening of the valves with the pistons. Not all cars use timing belts but on those that do it is essential that they be replaced according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. When the timing belt fails the best thing that can happen is that the engine stops running; the worst that can happen is that the engine fails catastrophically. See “Engines Replaced” below. At Hi-Tech Car Care we know the requirements for your make and model of car and will keep you advised of any scheduled maintenance that is due.
Head Gasket Replacement
The head gasket separates the cylinder head from the engine block and is the most important gasket in a car engine. An intact head gasket seals the cylinders to maintain compression and prevent the mixing of the fluids which flow through the engine. A leaking head gasket can cause low compression which can result in a loss of power or cause rough running. A leaking head gasket can allow coolant or oil to leak into the cylinders. The appearance of white smoke in the exhaust is often evidence of a coolant leak and dark smoke is in indication of an oil leak. A worse condition exists if exhaust gases are allowed to escape into the cooling system or coolant is forced into the oil. In both of these cases severe damage to the engine can result.
